SHIPPING & RECEIVING FAQs

  • As we send everything vacuumed sealed for expedited delivery, shipping is one of our biggest expenses. We do our best to absorb some of these costs and keep the price to you as low as possible.

All shipping is $18.00 per order. All orders over $99.00 receive free shipping.

Prices will increase if FedEx increases their rates as well.

  • Orders placed during week should be expected to be ship same day or next day.

Orders placed after Wednesday have the potential to ship the following Monday based on where package is going.

This may change during peak times and holidays.

We recommend planning ahead and ordering early during the busy holiday season in order to avoid any shipping delays.

  • New York winters can and will cause shiping delays. We recommend ordering early and receiving packages early. This way, if your package does get delayed for any reason, we will still have time to re-ship it and meet your deadline.

Concerned about getting your cheese too far in advance?

Kept in their vacuum seal and refrigerated upon arrival, cheeses will remain fresh and delicious indefinitely, they have no shelf life on them until opened. Once opened you have 2 weeks to enjoy. So, receiving them a few days or even a full week ahead of time will not impact their quality.

  • Yes, please call or email us to let us know if you want a packaged delayed.

  • We want you to have a great experience with our cheese, and will do everything possible to make sure orders are accurate and shipped in a timely manner.

Since cheese is a perishable item, we strongly advise making sure someone will be available to receive the shipment — this means letting gift recipients know to expect a perishable package. If you're unhappy with the product you receive, we will replace or refund your order.

We are not responsible for damaged or spoiled product due to the following:

    — Incorrect delivery addresses

    — Unopened shipments

    — Gifts to recipients who are out of town or unable to receive shipments

We will work with FedEx to replace any product damaged as a result of a delayed shipment (e.g. inclement weather; mechanical failure).

***If alcohol is in package someone over the age of 18 must be present to sign for package. If you are unable to do so the package will most likely be sent back to us, we will not refund the item. We can reship package for an additional cost.

  • You have an option to create a Muranda Cheese Account that can save your payment and address. Doing so will allow you to save your billing and payment info as well as any past shipping addresses, saving you time when placing future orders.

OTHER FAQs

  • Cheese is alive! Keep cheese in its original seal and it continues to age in package. Once opened, we recommend storing cheese in fresh sheet of waxed/parchment paper, then in a resealable container such as a tupperware or plastic bag.

Storing your cheese in vegetable drawer in the best way to kept cheese because it is more humid. If you have a wine fridge that is also a good option to store cheese.

We don't recommend freezing cheese — it will alter the texture, and may pick up off flavors. Only freeze cheese if you intend to cook with it.

  • If the cheese is part of your party, our rule of thumb is about 1.5 ounces of cheese per person, total. For example, if you're serving 3 cheeses for a party of 100 people, you'll want about 9 pounds of cheese on hand - 3 pounds of each cheese.

If cheese is the only food being served, you can increase this allowance to 2 or more ounces per person

  • Mold on cheese is completely natural and normal. If you do have some mold on cheese its fine, just cut if off. If the mold is embedded in cheese or completely covering the cheese it is best to toss it out.
